The purpose of the day is for school students (Year 9 and Year 10) to gain insights into tertiary opportunities for studying German language, to meet students of German from other schools and to practise their language skills outside of the classroom.

The day consists of presentations by participating universities (University of New South Wales, University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney and Macquarie University), the Goethe-Institut and the DAAD, followed by games and activities designed to get the students interacting with each other and using their German.
